Paid parking in the village of Michovka. Parking fee is 50 CZK per day.
For our visit to the rock mazes Kalich and Chléviště we chose the village Michovka as our starting point. It was still missing in our collection of starting points, because our previous trips to the rock mazes started in Malá Skála and Besednica. There is also a paid parking in Michovka.
From there we followed the blue tourist trail towards the rocks. The path leads first along a dirt road, but soon we entered the forest and along the forest path we slightly descended to the crossroads U tůňky. Here the blue trail turns and begins a steeper climb to a rock maze. Soon the first rock formations appeared and eventually we entered the Kalich rock maze. Passing between the rocks through narrow passages is very entertaining. After passing through this rock maze we enjoyed the views from the Besednicka lookout towards Kozákov. Then we joined the red hiking trail first.
After a wide forest path we moved to the entrance to the second rock maze - Chléviště. This maze is perhaps even more fun than the Kalich maze. There are several steep ascents and descents in narrow passages. In addition, there are beautiful views of the surroundings, towards Malá Skála and Ještěd. After passing through this maze, we returned to the Kalich - Prayer Room signpost. From there we went back to the parking lot on blue.
The easy and fun hike is guided along marked trails the entire time. The steepest climb is only to the rock maze Kalich - prayer house. The passage through the rock mazes is attractive, not difficult. Sometimes you need to use your hands to get over the rock boulders. There are stairs leading to the viewpoints. The route is ideal for families with children or with dogs.
Refreshments are right next to the parking lot in the village of Michovka. There is no other option further along the route. Therefore it is necessary to have liquids with you.
The Bohemian Paradise is full of accommodation options. We had accommodation in the village of Zdar.
The route does not go over any peak. Views of the surroundings are offered by the rock mazes - Besednická vyhlídka, Kinský vyhlídka and others.
In rock mazes it is good to be careful not only where you step, but also on your head. Some passages are low. Rock viewpoints have metal railings, steps or footbridges. But you still need to be careful, especially with children.
Refreshments are in the village of Michovka right by the parking lot. They also cook hot meals, soups, etc. Ice cream and other goodies are a matter of course. There is no pub further along the route, so it is good to have some snacks of your own.
